Children and Young People on Sundays

All ages are encouraged to follow Jesus. Children and Young people coming to St Mary’s at the 10:45 will find people their own age and friends who are younger and older.

Children and young people may prefer to be in church or in groups with others their age to encourage their relationship with God.

When the 10:45 is a Holy Communion service (every other week, during term-time) we run groups for young people. The groups start at 10:30.

  • Years 12 & 13 meet at The Star & Eagle

  • Reception to Year 11 meet in different age groups in Goudhurst and Kilndown Primary School, Beaman Close TN17 1DZ

  • Pre-schoolers are in the Children’s Room in St Mary’s

The groups return to church just before the end of the service. Contact rachel.robertson@gkchurch.org for details.

A completed registration form is required for each child or young person attending a group.  Download here or complete on arrival. For more information please contact the Vicar (rachel.robertson@gkchurch.org).

Other activities relevant to children and young people include:

  • Worship for Everyone. This is the 10:45 service every other Sunday (i.e. the Sundays when young people’s groups are not running), at St Mary’s Goudhurst, for people of all ages.

  • Baptisms happen during some of our main services or at other times, for children, young people and indeed adults. More information is here.

  • Special services designed especially for children, young people and their families take place at various times during the year, particularly at Christmas and Harvest Festival.

We take our Safeguarding responsibilities very seriously and each group or service involving children or young people is led by adults who have been been through our Safer Recruitment process and a DBS check. We also apply Safeguarding rules to all our online work with children and young people.
