GK Church Community Care Fund

“If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person? Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.” 1 John 3 v17-18

Criteria

It is specifically for those who live within the Goudhurst Parish (villages of Goudhurst, Kilndown and Curtisden Green) or who are regularly connected to, and involved with, either of our two churches of St Mary’s Goudhurst and Christ Church Kilndown, known as GK Church.

About

The GK Church Community Care Fund (Care Fund) offers financial assistance to individuals, couples or families through a grant system in place for times of crisis or emergency need. We have been blessed with some amazing donations that enable this Fund to provide help within our communities.

How it works

1. A completed application form will be received by the Administrator and passed to a small Panel to assess and determine the level of support, if any, to be given.

2. No cash or bank transfer will be given directly to an applicant except in exceptional circumstances.

3. It is expected that each applicant will receive an answer on their application within 3 working days.

4. There is a maximum value limit of £300 per applicant which can be made to the applicant in a single grant, or multiple smaller grants over the life of the scheme (e.g. 10 amounts of £30). Requests are monitored. Repeat applications over the limit of £300 from the same applicant or household will be accepted only in exceptional circumstances and may be rejected; if an application is rejected, the applicant will be contacted to review other means of support etc.

5. The Panel may use their discretion to grant more than or less than the amount applied for.

6. The Panel will maintain an impartial and confidential approach towards each application.

7. The Administrator, members of the Panel and anyone else directly involved in the Care Fund will not share any personal information relating to any applicant except where deemed necessary. They have each signed a Confidentiality Agreement.

8. Information regarding applicants will be held by GK Church only for the purposes of maintaining records and for administering the Care Fund. Such information will only be shared with the Administrator and Panel and anyone else directly involved in the Care Fund. Information will be covered under the GDPR policy of St Mary’s Church Goudhurst .
